The Ghana Scholarships Secretariat, established in 1960, operates under the Office of the President with the core mandate to award scholarships to brilliant but needy Ghanaians. The Secretariat plays a pivotal role in ensuring equitable access to educational opportunities both locally and abroad.

Through its various scholarship schemes, ranging from local tertiary support to foreign academic sponsorships,the Secretariat supports Ghana’s vision of building a knowledgeable, skilled, and globally competitive workforce. The institution emphasizes transparency, decentralization, and fairness in the administration of scholarships across all districts.
